Day 6 - conferencing.

I've decided to downscale my travel plans in Melbourne. Possibly still hit the great ocean road, but not all the way to the 12 apostles. The programming is good, and here are talks I want to see most days. I figure Australia will still be here next time - the conference won't.
The australian psych association is hosting a free espresso bar! 3rd latte of the day and it's not even noon. So good. Lunch is apparently also free today.
This morning we explored downtown Melbourne a little. Walked along he river and wandered towards Bourne street, which has a bunch of restaurants we might try later on in the week. For lunch as were booked with dinner receptions for the rest of the week. Tonight there's a reception hosted here at the conference centre, followed by dinner with Esther. I'm hoping for a relatively early night - to catch up on sleep, but sleuth possibly catch the replay of this mornings game - I figure I'll be able to follow more whilst properly awake.
Also, just realized that writing this on my iPod throughout the day and then postin at night means that the entire day will be in present tense - so line breaks will signify different writing sessions.

Lunch super yummy. Gnocchi with mushroom and lamb, fresh lemonade, and these almond orange cakes. Totally wanted to pack them up and then have then fir my meals the rest of week. I did grab extra cake and some pears for later. Just got out of a really interesting session on resilience in an organizational psych perspective, and am just waiting for Melina and Dean to get out of their session before doing afternoon tea. Not that I need any more caffeine at this point :) just rehearsing my talk for tomorrow, and reviewing my chairing notes.

Finished for the day. Had stopped by mcdonalds on our way back home, but the Internet wasn't working. So this will end up being posted sometime tomorrow... My last session was about working with the UN where I made interesting contacts, and the reception after was fancy. Had dinner with lab people and am hoping to head to bed soon - not particularly tired but have been up since 4...
