Day 27 - Hello Beijing!
Slept ok, but woke up earlier than intended, so the tour office here in the hotel is not yet open. I'm aiming to explore the forbidden city, and possibly the temple of heaven and other near by sites on my own today, but need to book my tour of the great wall for tomorrow. I think I'll pop out for breakfast. See how far I get and go from there. Apparently there is a tourism office relatively close by that I'm aiming for, where I'll hopefully be able to get a proper map. The weather looks kind of crappy - not raining but all cloudy and hazy.

Ah! So much to catch up on after only missing one day of reading! Or maybe two... And less than a week until you're in Tokyo!!!! Yay!!!
ReplyDeleteI'll send my cell phone number etc., and confirmation of meeting place, time etc. in a day or so. God, I was going to see in a few days, but by then you'll be here and it'll be too late. In fact, I'll do it tonight. Eeeeee!!!
