Day 5? 6? - 4am in the hostel bar

I think it's the 6th day of my trip. It just feels like it should be yesterday because it's so early in the morning. And I'm not even sure who I'm going for. Leaving bed for the game was hard. At the hostel bar. Had been planning to head either to the casino for the massive screens or to the docklands for the party, but it's wayyyy too early. And it looks cold out there. The hostel bar also has the advantage of making pajamas acceptable, though I did pull on some jeans.

Still the pregame, so thought I'd check in, as I didn't get he chance yesterday. The bar also has the advantage of reaching the free Internet from McDonalds near the windows :)

Yesterday was really long. Virgin was overbooked like crazy. And when we finally get to Melbourne our luggage takes forever. There was one of those blockage jams for an age, and when our stuff finally does arrive it's on the wrong belt. We then took the sky bus in to the city, checked in, and grabbed a super late lunch.

After lunch we headed back to the hostel to get ready for the conference. Which once we finally got there was super swanky. The venue is brand new, the new bag are pretty and the opening speeches were both decent and were flanked by aboriginal performances which was cool. I'm a little sad that I probably won't make it to any of the day trips I wanted to (great ocean road :( - though maybe the car rental thing will work out. Otherwise I'll just have come back here one day) but the conference organizers are doing their best to make it amusing, and the programming does look good. And maybe I'll atleast have enough free time to do one if the shorter trips?

Anyways, game started already. It's quite full here now, but I have this circular ottoman thing to myself, so yay :)

After the game will probably nap, then walk around the city before heading to the conference around lunch. It's going to be a long day. It's already the half. This post has come out super slow, but I could hardly leave my cushy seat to email from the window :)

Update: Psyched that Spain one. They definitely played the better game. Though really, I'm just glad its over. 7:30 in the morning now. I held someones seat at the half and they brought me tea from the kitchen which was fabulous. Wide awake now, so hopefully I make it ok through to tonights evening reception ok.
