Day 18 - Raglan continued.

Successfully sent in two posts from the public library in Raglan. After leaving the city we stopped by Wainui reserve and then Manu Bay for awesome views of the ocean - including an area called lefthand break where we watched surfers for a bit.

Sitting in the tv room at Karioi Lodge. They have satellite here which is a nice change of pace - we're watching Monsters versus Aliens. We have the whole place for ourselves again, and it's really beautiful. Its kind if fun traveling in the off season - I'm not sure I would be enjoying myself as much if it was super busy everywhere we went.

The lodge sort of has the same vibe as the place we stayed in the Amazon, where the whole place is built into the forest, except instead of individual cottages it's little rows of rooms connected by stairs ramps and walkways. There's a hammock outside of our room which is nice. Besides the tv room we're in there's also a nice walk, and a games room and a sauna, but shortly after arriving here it started raining, so we really haven't had a chance to enjoy much of it. A few of us did do a quick walk to inspiration point, where we watched the sunset - well, sort of watched the sunset. It's kinda cloudy at the moment, but atleast it's not raining.

Dinner smells nice. I like taking group meals and hope we're able to keep it up throughout the trip. If the weather holds a little, maybe well try the sports barn after dinner? There's things like table tennis and such up there. Overall though I'm aiming for an early night - doing a walk if the Waitomo caves tomorrow.
