| edit: Honestly, whats up will all of my carefully written captions being missing? Anyways, this is me in HongKong. My first night, despite being exhausted after the delay leaving New Zealand, I headed out to see the skyline - they do this choreagraphed light show every night which is kinda fun, even if the music is dorky electronic, elevator type stuff. |
 |
| After the light show I headed out to the Harbour City mall - its gigantically massive, in the way that so many Asian malls seem to be. Mainly luxury stores - some which I've only seen mentioned in magazine ads, and never fully realized that there would be actual stores of them. The best part of the mall was this little art gallery, hosting an exhibit on cupcake art. This is me with a giant cupcake. |
 |
| This is near the water at Stanley Market - they were shooting some kind of movie/tv show. It mainly seemed to involve some westerner on a bike run in to some person carrying groceries. This went on for the entire hour I was in Stanley. Also note the sun parasols in use. Highly recomended for summer in HK. and Beijing. and Tokyo. Hell, probably most of Asia, because when its not brutally hot its raining, so as long as you don't get one of those lace ones you're covered. |
 |
| Heading up Victoria peak on the tram. Hence the crazy angle - it gets to 45 degrees which is kind of cool. The view from up top is fabulous, and there are no less than two malls up top. |
Currently on hold with my creditcard company sorting things out. Apparently the country hopping did it. Atleast there's a view of the harbor from where I am. Something I did not appreciate last night when I was on hold for 20 minutes. Atleast the phone booth is indoors.

Well that was faster than expected. Currently at Starbucks having breakfast. Had a free drink with my tumbler purchase yesterday and decided to try he caramel frappucino with coffee jelly. The jelly was perhaps not the best choice, but the food here is yummy. Have an eggwhite sandwich and a peach Danish - all in an effort to slowly use up my currency.
Today will be ridiculously chill. I forgot to account for it being Saturday, and everything opening later. By the time stuff properly opens it'll be time for me to check out and head to the airport. Will probably just walk the waterfront on between getting a load of laundry done. This ofcourse means shopping at the airport. Possibly something duty-free for my return home? Or I suppose I could leave the excess HKD in the Philippines.
Anyways, thought of take the opportunity to post a few pics. Direct from my iPod for added tech savvy :) just a small selection, and not my best pics. Just what I could get my hands on quickly. Also, saving some of the good ones for paintings when I get home.
